Zambian Musician King Dandy Krazy Dies at 47 After Tragic Road Accident

The Zambian entertainment industry is mourning the loss of celebrated musician Wesley Chibambo, popularly known as Dandy Crazy, who passed away at the age of 47 . He was pronounced dead at 01:42 hours this morning following a tragic road traffic accident.

The accident, which occurred on New Year’s Eve along the Great North Road between Kabwe and Kapiri, claimed the lives of four individuals on the spot. Mr. Chibambo sustained critical injuries and was transferred to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) for emergency care.

According to Nzeba Chanda, the Public Relations Officer for UTH Adult Hospital, Mr. Chibambo underwent emergency surgery but remained in critical condition. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he passed away early this morning.

“We wish to pass our sincere condolences to the family and public as they mourn their loved one,” said Ms. Chanda in a statement.

Dandy Crazy was a revered figure in Zambian music. He was best known for his hit song Don’t Kubeba. This song became a cultural anthem during the 2011 general elections. Born and raised in the Copperbelt Province, he was widely recognized for his contributions to Zambian music and culture, earning numerous awards throughout his career.
