Yo Maps’ 2025 Booking Fee Set at K255,000, Olios Records Confirmed
Zambian hitmaker Yo Maps will command a hefty booking fee of K255,000 in 2025, according to a statement released by Olios Records, his record label. This amount, roughly equivalent to $9,190, has ignited widespread discussion on social media about the sustainability of such a cost for event promoters and fans alike.
The label’s post explained that with ticket prices ranging from K100 to K200, promoters would need at least 1,275 to 2,550 attendees just to cover Yo Maps’ fee, not accounting for additional expenses like venue costs, accommodation, logistics, and other essentials. To make events profitable, ordinary ticket prices would likely need to rise to at least K300 or more, raising the question—are fans willing to pay that much to see Yo Maps live?
Yo Maps performs an average of four shows per month, meaning the artist could potentially earn over K1 million monthly and more than K12 million annually before taxes.
While some fans praised the artist’s value and success, others reacted with skepticism and humor. One commenter quipped, “I will see him ku chililo,” implying that funeral attendance might be the only opportunity to catch a glimpse of the star for free.
Yo Maps is set to resume live performances on February 21, 2025, following a break from his hectic schedule. As the debate over his booking fee continues, fans and promoters alike will be watching closely to see how the market responds to his premium pricing.
