Yo Maps Threatens Legal Action Against Anti-Corruption Commission Over Seized Vehicle
Renowned Zambian musician Elton Mulenga, popularly known as Yo Maps, has issued a stern warning to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), stating his intention to take legal action if his Land Cruiser, affectionately named “Cru Cru,” is not returned by Friday. In a demand letter sent through his legal representatives, Nsapato & Co. Advocates, Yo Maps expressed discontent with the ACC‘s handling of the situation.
The artist lamented that the ACC’s actions have not only jeopardized his business deals but also raised concerns about the lack of transparency regarding the subject of their investigations. Yo Maps emphasized the prejudicial nature of the ACC‘s conduct and urged them to return the seized vehicle promptly.
According to the demand letter, Yo Maps highlighted the adverse impact on his reputation and business interests, calling for a fair and lawful resolution to the matter. The letter also referenced a reported altercation between ACC officers and a member of Yo Maps’ family during the vehicle seizure.
The ACC has been given a deadline of Friday to return the Land Cruiser, failing which Yo Maps has threatened to pursue legal action against the commission. The demand letter adds another layer to the ongoing situation, shedding light on the artist’s perspective and his determination to seek redress through legal channels.
The outcome of this dispute will likely have implications not only for Yo Maps personally but also for the broader conversation about the transparency and fairness of anti-corruption investigations in Zambia. As the story unfolds, it remains to be seen how the ACC will respond to the artist’s legal ultimatum.
